New Days of our Lives star Brandon Barash knows a thing or two about the incredibly quick pace of soap operas, having played General Hospital character Johnny Zacchara for nearly a decade. But he shares that taking over for Tyler Christopher in the role of Stefan DiMera was even more lightning fast than his previous daytime drama experience.
"I was at lunch with a friend, and I got a phone call from my manager saying, 'Can you be at the Days of our Lives set to work tomorrow?'" the actor shares with Soap Opera Digest. "And I said, 'I think so.' And that's how it happened. It was that simple."
Because Barash was called in as an emergency recast, he didn't have much time to prepare and says that immediately having to jump into heavy story was "a tall order." However, he says the incredible cast and crew at DAYS made the transition as smooth as it could have been.
"It's really a special family," he shares. "They got a good soup cooking over here, so they made it very easy."
