90s sitcom fans went wild when Family Matters star Telma Hopkins recently guest-starred on The Young and the Restless, where she reunited with her former TV son, Bryton James (Devon Hamilton), 24 years after they shared the screen as Rachel and Richie Crawford. Now, it's possible that Days of our Lives could be the next soap opera to make TGIF fans' dreams come true.
Another sitcom that ruled the airwaves in the 1990s was Sister, Sister, where current DAYS star Jackée Harry (Paulina Price) starred as Lisa Landry opposite über-popular TV twins Tia and Tamera Mowry. It would be pretty awesome to see Harry share the screen with her sitcom daughters once more, and something that Tamera Mowry-Housley said in a recent interview has fans thinking that it could actually happen -- at DAYS!
In a video segment posted on Yahoo!, the actress reveals that she and Tia (who now goes by the name of Tia Mowry-Hardrict) were inspired to become actresses while watching soap operas -- specifically the famous NBC drama.
"[Our desire to perform] started with my sister and I, Tia, watching the soaps. Our favorite was Days of our Lives, and I can remember living in Texas, sitting down in our living room, and watching them," Tamera shares. "I loved how pretty all the women looked in the sense that they looked so beautiful just sitting at home -- their hair was always done, their makeup was always done, and there was always some crazy drama, like 'dun-dun-dun,' happening. And I can remember asking my mom, 'How do you get into TV like that? I want to do that.'"
The twins' love of DAYS and its effect on their life goals eventually led to a fruitful acting career for both, with Sister, Sister just being the beginning. However, neither has appeared on a soap opera before, and now may be the perfect time.
Nothing is official yet, and the idea of Tia and Tamera Mowry reuniting with Jackée Harry on DAYS is just fans' wishful thinking, but it's not totally out of the realm of possibility. After all, DAYS fans know what can happen when a big star name-drops the daytime drama -- it's the way Harry landed her role as Paulina! Plus, Harry's addition to the DAYS cast has already led to another sitcom reunion: her former 227 co-star, Marla Gibbs, recently made an appearance as Paulina's mother, Olivia.
