In Willow's hospital room, Michael asked how Willow had slept. "Barely," she said. Willow explained that she was anxious to hear what Dr. Randolph had to tell them, so Michael revealed that he'd been told that someone else would be giving them an update. Willow's expression filled with concern, but Michael reminded her that she'd been getting stronger every day. She remained uneasy because her cancer journey had been a roller coaster.
Moments later, T.J. entered the room. T.J. explained that he had asked Dr. Randolph if he could deliver the "life-changing" news, so that they could hear it from a friend. Michael and Willow's nervousness turned to joy when T.J. announced that the bone marrow transplant had been a success. Michael asked if Willow was in remission, but T.J. explained that it would take six months to a year of normal blood work without any infusions to make that determination. However, T.J. assured his friends that he was encouraged because there hadn't been any leukemia cells detected in Willow's blood or bone marrow.
T.J. conceded that Willow's immune system would remain fragile for the first year and that precautions would be necessary, but Willow could go home, provided she kept her bubble reduced to a small circle of immediate family and close friends. T.J. explained that the nurse would go over everything when the discharge papers were ready. After T.J. left, Michael suggested that their nightmare was over. "Maybe we'll get our happily ever after, after all," Willow said.
Later, Michael reported that the staff would get the gatehouse ready. Willow admitted that she wanted to add someone to her list of visitors, but Michael might not approve. Michael assured Willow that she had his full support. "I think my bubble should include Nina," Willow said.
Elsewhere in the hospital, Sasha was focused on her phone as Gladys cautioned Sasha not to rush ending the guardianship, because Sasha's mental health was more important. "What in the world?" Sasha asked. Sasha explained that she had received an email informing her that Gellhorn Jewelers had dropped the larceny charges against Cody. Sasha was immediately suspicious when she noticed that Gladys wasn't surprised by the news. Gladys claimed that the insurance company had contacted her to let her know that a waiter had found the bracelet on the floor, and the waiter had dropped the bracelet into Cody's pocket.
Stunned, Sasha asked why Gladys hadn't said anything sooner. Gladys explained that she had intended to tell Sasha after Sasha's appointment with Dr. Montague. Sasha pointed out that Gladys had been wrong about Cody, but Gladys argued that Cody had been wrong, too. "I'm not some diabolical mother-in-law," Gladys said. Sasha assured Gladys that it had been a misunderstanding, but she advised Gladys to apologize to Cody.
Moments later, Dr. Montague appeared and invited Sasha to his office. Gladys told Sasha that she regretted if she had caused problems for Sasha and Cody. "There is no me and Cody," Sasha said. After Sasha entered the office, Dr. Montague and Gladys exchanged a smile.
Later, Sasha talked about the banner year that Deception had had, but Dr. Montague cut Sasha off because she had spent 15 minutes telling him about all the great things in her life. He explained that he didn't want her to view their sessions as a way to prove herself to him. Dr. Montague conceded that his chief purpose was to evaluate whether or not the judge should grant the petition to end the guardianship, but he also wanted to help Sasha. Dr. Montague encouraged Sasha to be honest with him, so Sasha assured him that she was doing great and feeling steady. Dr. Montague was skeptical because he had sensed that Sasha had been on edge since her arrival.
Sasha acknowledged that she had pressures at work, and she was concerned about a friend who'd been fighting cancer. When Dr. Montague asked if Sasha had ever tried meditation, Sasha admitted that she preferred yoga. Dr. Montague asked Sasha to try "mindfulness without movement" for ten minutes each day, and he suggested an app that would help. Sasha agreed, so Dr. Montague asked her to wait while he fetched something. A few minutes later, Dr. Montague returned and handed Sasha a bottle of pills that he explained were benzodiazepines.
According to Dr. Montague, the pills were a mild sedative to help take the edge off Sasha's anxiety. Sasha asked if the pills were safe with her antidepressants, so he assured her that they were often prescribed in conjunction. Sasha reminded the doctor of her past addiction struggles, but he assured her that the pills were safe as long as she took them as prescribed. Dr. Montague promised that their sessions, the medication, and the meditation were all part of a consistent wellness plan.
In the police commissioner's office, Dante found Mac working. "There he is, back behind the desk. Gonna make it permanent?" Dante asked. "Been there, done that," Mac said. Dante pointed out that -- as the police commissioner -- Mac would have an opportunity to argue with Robert, but Mac chuckled because he could do that, anyway. "I'm interim until someone can be appointed," Mac said.
Mac shifted gears as he handed Dante a file that had landed on Mac's desk. After a quick review of the file, Dante was shocked to realize that Gellhorn Jewelers had dropped the charges against Cody. Mac revealed that the insurance company had determined that the clasp on the bracelet had been faulty, and a waiter had stepped forward and cleared Cody of wrongdoing. Mac regretted arresting Cody because he had envisioned himself more as Cody's father than Cody's arresting officer. Dante recalled learning from Cody that DNA tests had revealed that Mac was Cody's biological father, but Dante pushed the memory away.
Dante revealed that he'd been on his way to see Cody, so he was eager to share the good news with his friend. Mac asked if he could tag along because Mac wanted to deliver the news in person to Cody.
At Metro Court's pool, Cody lounged on the chair and soaked up the sun while Scott tried to persuade Cody to sign an affidavit that Scott had to file with the clerk's office. Scott was eager to get down to business with the WSB, but he warned Cody that the WSB might try to play hardball. Alarmed, Cody asked if the WSB would investigate him, because he had a past. Scott reminded Cody that the "s" in WSB stood for security, but Scott was confident that Cody's past wouldn't pose a problem. The conversation turned to Cody's larceny charges, but Cody assured Scott that the charges would soon be dropped.
Pleased, Scott promised that it would be worth it. "All it cost me was a new friend," Cody said. Scott assured Cody that Cody would soon have a bunch of new friends, and they would all look like "Benjamin Franklin." Cody took the affidavit and reviewed it. Scott pointed out that Leopold Taub didn't have any living relatives, so no one would contest Cody's claim. Cody was satisfied until Scott mentioned that the WSB might try to exhume Taub's body, but Scott would make them pay for it.
"Can you cry on cue?" Scott asked. Cody warned Scott not to let Taub's body be exhumed. As Cody signed the affidavit, Dante and Mac walked up. Mac revealed that the charges against Cody had been dropped. Cody took the news in stride, which surprised Dante. Cody explained that he'd known all along that he'd been innocent, but Cody was curious what had changed for Gellhorn Jewelers. Mac admitted that a witness had stepped forward, and he told Cody about the waiter.
When Scott announced that he was leaving, Dante decided to have a private word with him. Dante wanted to know what Scott and Cody were up to, but Scott reminded Dante that it was privileged information. Dante wasn't satisfied. He accused Scott of scamming Cody, and he warned Scott not to drag Cody into trouble. Scott promised that everything was above board, but Dante wanted Scott's assurance that Cody wouldn't get burned by the document that Cody had signed for Scott. Dante didn't trust Scott's "sketchy bag of tricks."
"Torts," Scott said. Dante recognized the term, which was used in reference to civil lawsuits. Scott assured Dante that Cody would be fine.
Nearby, Mac apologized for arresting Cody, but Cody promised that he hadn't held it against Mac. Relieved, Mac took the opportunity to warn Cody to be careful with Scott. Cody questioned why Mac felt compelled to always warn him about people, so Mac agreed to back off. However, Mac had no regrets about advising Cody to stay away from Selina. Mac explained that he wanted the best for Cody, and he hoped that they could be friends. Cody admitted that he already considered Mac a friend.
In Carly's kitchen, Carly thanked Sam for stopping by on short notice. Sam admitted that she'd had a busy morning, taking Scout to say goodbye to Drew before Scout's father had to report to prison. Afterwards, Sam had spent an hour consoling her devastated daughter. "She just got her dad back, and now she's lost him again," Sam said. Carly confessed that she had reached out to Sam because she wanted to know how Sam felt about everything.
Carly assured Sam that she wanted Sam to be honest and not hold back. Sam admitted that she was furious because she wished that Drew had made a different choice. "So do I," Carly said. Carly explained that Drew had wanted to spare both of their families from having to go through a long fight. Sam knew that Carly was right, but Sam insisted that Drew deserved some happiness, and she was frustrated that he continued to sacrifice it. "Because of me," Carly said.
Sam acknowledged that she had blamed Carly at first, but Sam had realized that Carly had been trying to help Drew and Michael retain control of ELQ. Sam understood that Carly couldn't have foreseen what would happen, but Carly disagreed. Carly insisted that she should have talked to a financial adviser or listened to both Drew and Michael when they had warned Carly against investing. Sam reminded Carly that Carly hadn't been driven by personal gain but rather by a desire to help. Touched, Carly confessed that Sam's support meant the world to her. Sam admitted that Drew's concern for Carly spoke volumes about how much Drew cared for Carly.
After the air was cleared, Sam accepted Carly's offer to make coffee. As they chatted, Sam accidently knocked over a folder that landed on the floor. As Sam scooped up the scattered papers, she caught glimpse of what it was in regard to. Carly was reluctant to talk about her financial crisis, but Sam felt bad for Carly because Carly had lost quite a bit in the past. Carly explained that the $5,000,000 fine paled in comparison to her marriage ending, Jason dying, and Drew going to prison. Carly revealed that even if she secured a loan without much collateral, she still couldn't afford what she owed the government.
Sam asked if Carly had a plan, so Carly confided that she didn't. Sam reminded Carly that people would help if needed, but Carly refused to accept any handouts. Sam urged Carly not to let pride stop Carly from asking for help, but Carly was adamant that it was her mess to clean up. "I'll be damned if I'm going to let it crush me," Carly said. Suddenly, Carly smiled. To Sam's surprise, Carly announced that she had a plan thanks to Sam.
At Sonny's penthouse, Drew apologized for showing up unannounced. Sonny recalled that Drew had been scheduled to report to prison, and he grumbled about the judges being out for blood. Drew made it clear that he had no regrets because he'd made the best choice under the circumstances. However, Drew admitted that he had some unfinished business to take care of. Sonny glanced at the guitar case that Drew had carried in, so Drew explained that it was for Ned. "Or, Eddie Maine," Drew said.
Drew and Sonny talked about the improbability of Ned's injury leading to Sonny opening his home to "Eddie." Drew was impressed with Sonny's compassion, and he hoped that giving "Eddie" the guitar that "Eddie" had fondly recalled might trigger Ned's memories to return. Sonny revealed that "Eddie" was out, prompting Drew to question if it was safe. Sonny promised that he had eyes on "Eddie," and he would also have eyes on Drew. Sonny was grateful that Drew had stepped up and taken responsibility for everything because Sonny knew that Drew could have chosen to flip on him.
Drew explained that turning against Sonny had never been an option for him or for Carly, and it had been Drew's debt to pay. Sonny revealed that he had men at Pentonville who would keep an eye on Drew, but Sonny warned Drew that the protection could only extend so far. "Keep your eyes open and your chin up," Sonny said. Drew thanked Sonny.
After Drew left, Gladys stopped by to talk to Sonny about Sasha. She was eager to know if Sonny had persuaded Sasha not to end the guardianship. Sonny conceded that Gladys' concerns had been valid, but he informed her that he would support whatever the doctor and the judge decided because he was confident that Sasha was ready to take charge of her life. Gladys started to object, but Sonny opened the door for Gladys to leave.
Moments later, Gladys answered a call from Dr. Montague. He told her that he'd done exactly as they had discussed. "Your daughter-in-law is on a new prescription regime. It's only a matter of time," Dr. Montague said. He offered Gladys an opportunity to change her mind, and he assured her that he could make an excuse for Sasha to return with the pills. "No, let's move forward. It's the only move I have left," Gladys said.
At Pentonville, Drew reported for his sentence. After he was searched, fingerprinted, and processed, Drew was taken to his jail cell. After the guard left, Cyrus walked up and struck up a conversation by pointing out that the jail cell wasn't the Metro Court, but it was a step up from a leaky makeshift prison on the Greek Islands. "You clearly know who I am. Care to tell me who you are?" Drew asked. "I am your brother in Christ," Cyrus said.
Cyrus quoted scripture and praised Drew for not "weeping" over Drew's new circumstances. Cyrus invited Drew to join Cyrus' group meetings in the library, but Drew wanted to know more about Cyrus' group. Cyrus explained that they weren't like other prison factions because Cyrus' brotherhood had been founded on shared values rather than prejudices and partisanships. Drew questioned Cyrus' keen interest in him, but Cyrus assured Drew that it was because of Drew's impressive career and accomplishments.
Cyrus slid the Bible between the iron bars. He assured Drew that Drew could find great comfort in the words. Drew accepted the Bible, but he wanted to know Cyrus' name. "Just call me Brother Cy," Cyrus said. "Cy? As in Cyrus?" Drew asked. Cyrus confirmed that he was Cyrus Renault. Cyrus asked about his sister, but Drew accused Cyrus of peddling drugs that had led to overdose deaths and nearly killed Sasha.
Cyrus conceded that his past was "lamentable," but Drew argued that Cyrus had tried to murder Britt Westbourne. "Thank God I wasn't successful," Cyrus said. Drew reminded Cyrus that Drew's late brother Jason Morgan had saved Britt. Drew returned the Bible to Cyrus. "And God help you if you ever approach me again," Drew said. Cyrus insisted that he believed in the power of forgiveness and second chances.
Cyrus handed the Bible back to Drew, and he pointedly told Drew to read it because Drew would find the lessons "useful." After Cyrus walked away, Drew opened the Bible. Hidden inside was a handmade shiv.

In Willow's hospital room, Willow told Michael that she wanted to add Nina to the list of people in Willow's small bubble of authorized visitors. She pointed out that they'd been given a miracle. "Shouldn't we share it?" Willow asked. Willow reminded Michael that whether they liked it or not, Nina was engaged to Sonny, and both Sonny and Nina were a part of their family. Michael admitted that, even though he hadn't forgiven Sonny for hurting Carly and the family, he couldn't waste any more time on a vendetta.
Willow was proud of Michael, and she confessed that she didn't want to waste time, either, because she had already wasted so much. Michael reminded his wife that she had fought bravely and returned to them. Touched, Willow assured Michael that she didn't expect him to forgive Nina, but Willow had always tried to work on a relationship with Harmony, and she felt that she owed Nina the same consideration. "I want to get to know the mother I never had and let her get to know me," Willow said.
After Michael stepped out of the room, Nurse Clara visited and wished Willow well. Willow thanked the kind nurse for going "beyond the call of duty," and helping Willow to understand that it wasn't all about her. "I was right, wasn't I? A girl needs her mom," Clara said.
At the penthouse, Sonny and Nina discussed Willow's improved health. Nina was sad that Willow would be going home without her, so Sonny offered to go to the hospital and talk to Willow on Nina's behalf. Touched, Nina reminded him that Michael had warned Sonny not to pressure Willow. Nina admitted that she might feel different if Willow had reached out. "But we both know that she will never give me a chance," Nina said. "Never say never," Sonny told her.
Sonny explained that he believed in miracles. He reminded Nina that a miracle had saved him from the fall into the icy waters and had brought him to Nixon Falls. Nina smiled because she loved that Sonny was a romantic, but she pointed out that there were people who thought their meeting had been a catastrophe. Sonny argued that he and Nina couldn't turn back time or undo the hurt that they had caused, but Willow might not have survived if it hadn't been for Nina's aunt. "You did that for her. You gave her a gift -- a gift of a family," Sonny said.
Just then, Sonny's phone rang. It was Michael. Michael explained that Willow had been cleared to go home, but she wanted to see her "mom" first. A short time later, Sonny and Nina arrived at the hospital, but Nina had a moment of panic as she recalled telling Ava that any chance of Nina forging a relationship with Willow would vanish if Willow ever found out that Nina had reported Drew and Carly to the SEC. Nina pushed the memory away when Sonny asked her what was wrong.
Nina explained that she wasn't brave. "I can't do this," Nina said. However, Nurse Clara walked up and asked if Nina was Willow's mother. "Yes. Yes, I am," Nina said. Clara confided that Willow had mentioned that Nina would visit, and Clara was happy for both Willow and Nina. Clara held out a box of masks and instructed Nina to take one. Moments later, Michael stepped into the hallway and informed Nina that Willow was ready to see her.
Once they were alone, Sonny told Michael that he was happy that Willow had opened her heart to Nina. Michael quickly clarified that Willow had merely opened the door. "And it remains to be seen if Nina will make Willow regret it," Michael said.
In Willow's hospital room, Nina nervously greeted Willow. Nina was happy to see that Willow looked much better, and she asked if there was anything that she could do to help. Willow explained that she would need some time to settle in at home, but she would like for Nina to visit. Nina was pleasantly surprised that she had been included, but Willow informed Nina that she had one stipulation. Willow wanted Nina's need for vengeance against Carly to stop.
"If you want to be a part of my life, you have to make peace with Carly," Willow said. Nina promised that her feud with Carly was officially over. Moments later, Michael and Sonny entered. Nina rushed over to share the happy news with Sonny. Meanwhile, Willow asked if Michael was upset about her decision, but he assured her that her happiness meant everything to him.
At Metro Court, Martin left his hotel room. He was unaware that Felicia -- disguised as a housekeeper -- waited until the coast was clear and used a keycard to slip into his room.
At the hotel's pool, Mac was surprised that Cody considered him a friend. Dante pointedly told Cody that Cody was lucky to have a friend like Mac. "It's a wicked world out there," Dante said. Cody resented Dante's warning, and he accused Dante of always telling stories about monsters during their camp days. Dante assured Cody that monsters were real -- and they looked like Scott Baldwin.
The exchange between Cody and Dante was cut short when Mac's phone rang. It was Maxie. Maxie explained that Georgie and Bailey were with Liesl, but Felicia hadn't arrived to watch James. Mac assured Maxie that he was on his way. After he disconnected the call, Mac congratulated Cody on the larceny charges being dropped, and he expressed his hope that Cody would take advantage of the turn of luck.
Mac headed to the exit, but he ran into Martin. After the two men exchanged a greeting, Mac asked if Martin had taken his advice. Martin promised that he'd taken to heart Mac's suggestion to not keep anything from Lucy. Pleased, Mac complimented Martin's suit, which looked very similar to the suit that Mac was wearing. After Mac left, Martin took off his jacket, kicked off his shoes, and settled on a lounge chair.
Meanwhile, Dante questioned Cody about what Cody and Scott were up to. Cody bristled at Dante's attitude, and he reminded Dante that Scott had had history with Cody's mother. Dante shifted gears because he was curious why Cody refused to tell Mac the truth about the DNA test. Cody claimed that Mac was better off not knowing that Cody was Mac's son, but Dante disagreed because Dante was certain that Mac could steer Cody right about Scott. Annoyed, Cody warned Dante to drop it. Cody claimed that he was the one who had approached Scott, not the other way around.
Dante was skeptical because Cody was smart, but he had poor judgment. Cody argued that not everyone had a father who had connections like Dante's father, or someone like Sam, a family, and friends. Dante disagreed because Cody had several friends, including Sam and Sasha, and Cody had a father and family -- but Cody had to let them in. "Maybe the money is of more value to you," Dante said. Cody insisted that he had learned that he could only count on himself. "How's that working out for you?" Dante asked.
Nearby, Tracy thanked Diane for meeting her. Diane explained that she'd been on her way to meet a client, so she cut to the chase and asked what Tracy wanted. Tracy slid a $40,000 check across the table to Diane. Diane was impressed with the opening offer, but she admitted that she had all the clients that she could handle. Tracy realized that Sonny and Carly kept Diane busy, but Tracy was confident that Diane would drop all her clients to take Tracy's case. Intrigued, Diane agreed to hear Tracy out.
"I'd like to report a robbery," Tracy said. Tracy handed Diane a folder, and Diane flipped through the pages. "The Deceptor?" Diane asked. Diane asked how Tracy had gotten her hands on Deception's confidential records. Tracy recalled Brook Lynn giving her the flash drive with the files, but Tracy pushed the memory away and told Diane that what mattered was finding out how Lucy had gotten the design.
Diane agreed that it was suspicious because a product like Deceptor usually took years of research to develop. Tracy pointed out that the timeline indicated that the plans for Deceptor had suddenly appeared in Deception's files the previous autumn. Diane asked if Tracy was suggesting that Deception had stolen intellectual property, and if Maxie, Sasha, Lucy, and Tracy's own granddaughter had been responsible. Tracy clarified that she hadn't accused anyone of anything.
"Yet," Tracy said. Diane explained that she would need more information before she agreed to take the case. Diane wanted to know who the idea had been stolen from. Tracy agreed to give Diane all the information, but first, Tracy wanted Diane to agree to represent her. Diane acknowledged that the case had potential for a huge payoff. Tracy promised to give Diane a quarter of the settlement, but Diane made it clear that she would not accept anything less than one-third. Diane took the check and left.
Tracy picked up her drink and walked over to Martin's lounge chair. After she dipped her fingers in her drink, she sprinkled the drops of liquid on Martin's face. Martin's eyes snapped open, and he looked around in confusion until he saw Tracy. "Hello, Marty. Weren't you going to say hello?" Tracy asked. Martin was surprised to see her.
Tracy conceded that it had been a long time since her and Martin's paths had crossed. "You were behind bars," Martin said. Tracy acknowledged that it had been an "unfortunate misunderstanding" with Alexis, and Tracy had never properly thanked Martin for his help. Martin asked where he could send the bill. Tracy chuckled because he hadn't lost his sense of humor. She abruptly changed the subject and asked if Martin and Lucy were still together.
Martin confirmed that he was dating Lucy. "To each his own," Tracy said. Martin didn't appreciate Tracy's comment, so she explained that her late brother Alan had found Lucy irresistible, too, but it hadn't been a match made in heaven. Martin admitted that it had sounded vaguely like a warning. "It's a prediction," Tracy said. Martin insisted that he and Lucy had an "unshakeable faith" in each other, but Tracy merely smiled. She asked if Martin would be interested in a little proposition.
In Carly's kitchen, Sam asked if Carly had plans to refinance her home. Carly admitted that she couldn't afford it, and she doubted that the bank would approve her. To Sam's surprise, Carly announced that she had decided to sell the house. Carly explained that Josslyn and Trina intended to get an off-campus apartment in the fall when they returned to school, so it would just be Carly and Donna. Carly was confident that the money she'd make from selling the house would be enough to get an apartment off Charles Street and to support her and Donna. Sam conceded that it made sense, but she urged Carly not to rush into anything.
"This is your home," Sam said. Carly argued that she didn't have the luxury of being sentimental, and it was a small price to pay compared to Drew, who had sacrificed his freedom. Sam wondered what Drew would say about Carly's decision, but Carly made it clear that she didn't want Drew to know until it was too late to stop the sale. Sam warned Carly that Donna would be upset, and Sam pointed out that the house had been the only thing that Carly had asked for during the divorce from Sonny. Carly acknowledged that it wasn't an easy decision.
Carly appreciated Sam's friendship, and she explained that the memories she had made in the house would be the foundation of Carly's new life -- and the new version of herself. Sam applauded Carly's fighting spirit, so Carly confessed that she'd done it before. "And this time, when I'm finished, I'm going to get back everything I lost," Carly said.
A short time later, Diane arrived and apologized for being late. Sam decided that it was her cue to leave. After Sam left, Carly told Diane about her decision to sell the house, and she wanted Diane's help to get the best price. She asked Diane not to talk her out of it. "This is the only choice I have. There's nothing else I can do," Carly said. Diane was disappointed that Carly had underestimated her, and she asked for an opportunity to make her case.
At Maxie's apartment, Maxie thanked her father for watching James. James asked his grandfather if he could live with Mac because James was tired of being the only boy in the home. Maxie was taken aback by James's complaint, but Mac chuckled and assured his daughter that he had everything covered. Maxie opened the door to leave, but she stopped when she saw her mother on the doorstep. Felicia apologized for being late.
After Maxie left, Mac asked why his wife had been late. Felicia explained that she had been working on a case, prompting James to ask about Felicia's work. Felicia explained that she was a "private eye" and that she solved mysteries like the ones that James read about in his books. When Felicia sent James to find an old sheet, a delighted James scampered off. Mac told Felicia that she no longer needed to worry about Cody because the charges had been dropped. Felicia was happy for Cody, but she admitted that she had been working on a case for an old friend.
Mac wanted to know who it was, but James returned with a sheet. Felicia quickly spread the sheet out on the floor and dumped a pile of garbage on top of it. Felicia explained to James that they had to search the trash for clues. James picked up a slip of paper and asked Mac what hummingbird cake was. Mac told him that it was an old southern dessert, and he turned his attention back to Felicia because Mac wanted to know whose garbage it was and if Felicia had obtained it legally. Felicia assured him that the garbage had been retrieved by a maid.
Moments later, Felicia found a bag filled with shredded papers. "Jackpot," Felicia said. Felicia realized that the papers had been shredded in haste because some of the pieces were large. James found a piece of paper with Martin's name on it. Mac realized that the papers were shredded bank statements. James grew tired of putting the "puzzle pieces" together, so he went to the kitchen for cookies.
Felicia discovered that Martin had been receiving a deposit of $50,000 every month. She assumed that the client was Valentin, but Mac questioned why the checks hadn't been drawn from a bank in Port Charles. Felicia looked closer and realized that the deposits had been drawn from a bank in Pine Valley, Pennsylvania.
At Deception, Sasha entered Maxie's office and quickly popped one of the pills that Dr. Montague had prescribed. Seconds later, Brook Lynn walked in and greeted Sasha. Lucy entered as Brook Lynn mentioned hearing that the charges against Cody had been dropped. Lucy told Sasha that she was eager to celebrate the good news, but first, they had to attend to business. Brook Lynn was curious if the meeting was about a new product launch, but Lucy refused to discuss it until Maxie arrived.
The conversation returned to Cody and why the charges had been dropped. Sasha explained that the bracelet had been misplaced, and Gladys had made an "honest" mistake. Brook Lynn asked if Sasha still intended to terminate the guardianship, so Sasha assured both Brook Lynn and Lucy that she was confident that the court would rule in her favor because Sasha had the support of her doctor. Sasha suddenly decided to celebrate her upcoming freedom by fetching a latte at Perks.
Before Lucy could stop Sasha, Sasha left. A short time later, Maxie arrived. "Now, I can break the news," Lucy said. Maxie and Brook Lynn were shocked when Lucy revealed that Deception's IT Department had found an unauthorized download of highly confidential data from one of their executive computers. Maxie argued that it was impossible because their files were password protected. "I'm not saying one of us. I'm saying you, Maxie. You stole it," Lucy said.
Maxie acknowledged that she had looked at the files the previous day, but she explained that Brook Lynn could confirm that Maxie hadn't downloaded any files. Lucy started to question Brook Lynn about what had transpired in Maxie's office, but Maxie insisted that she had no reason to steal her own files. Lucy realized that Maxie was right. "But if you didn't do it, then who did?" Lucy asked.
In the locker room at the hospital, Finn ate a sandwich while reading a book called Parasites and Worms in Humans. Elizabeth entered, unsurprised to find him eating there instead of the break room, and she added that the book would have scared everyone away, anyway. She thought that they needed to talk about the previous night, and he thanked her for playing along with Violet. He assured her that there would be no more romantic evenings for them in the future. They talked about planning a family night together with the kids, and Elizabeth commented, "That's what we want, right?" Finn talked about having something more complicated, but they were interrupted by Terry. Finn had plans with Violet, so he excused himself and left.
Terry apologized for interrupting, and Elizabeth told her about the date with Finn. Terry advised Elizabeth to ask Finn how he felt, but Elizabeth thought he would never open up to her again after she'd destroyed his trust in her. Just then, Terry got a notification about a patient. She urged Elizabeth to talk to Finn, and she left.
At Deception, Lucy laid into Maxie for potentially leaving the password for their shared file laying around. Maxie argued back about how busy she was with no help from Lucy until Brook Lynn finally shouted, "Enough!" Brook Lynn admitted that she was the one who'd downloaded the files from Maxie's computer, and she claimed that she'd been trying to put together a social media campaign without bothering her busy coworkers. Lucy sternly told Brook Lynn how serious it would be if their trade secrets got out, and Brook Lynn apologized. Lucy asked for the files back, but Brook Lynn admitted that she'd taken them home on a flash drive. Lucy ordered her to go get them, and Brook Lynn ran out of the office.
At the Metro Court pool, Tracy informed Martin that she had a proposition for him in the form of a "business challenge." She explained that ELQ was a "Dumpster fire" with Valentin away and Ned being "MIA." She believed that, as Valentin's POA, the next choice to run ELQ was Martin. He was unsure, but she told him to think of it as protecting his client's interests. He finally accepted, and they shook hands. Her first order of business was inviting him and Lucy to the Quartermaines' annual General Hospital fundraiser picnic, and he agreed.
When Martin was gone, Brook Lynn sat down with Tracy to talk about Deception, but Finn and Violet approached. He mentioned that they were there so that Violet could get a Shirley Temple. Violet commented that she wasn't allowed to pay with Finn's phone anymore after what had happened with Elizabeth. Tracy suggested that Brook Lynn take Violet over to the bar for one, and the two walked over to the bar. When they were gone, Tracy wanted to know the story behind what had happened with Elizabeth, and he briefly filled her in. Tracy advised him to "squash" any residual feelings he had for Elizabeth, as history had a way of repeating itself.
At the bar, Violet was enjoying her drink when Martin greeted Brook Lynn. He updated her on his conversation with Tracy, and Brook Lynn advised him to be careful. She said she loved her grandmother, but she warned that Tracy could be opportunistic. A few minutes later, she and Violet returned to Tracy and Finn, and Finn left with Violet to go to dinner. Brook Lynn informed Tracy that she needed the flash drive with the Deception information back, as she was in hot water over it. Sasha arrived just in time to see Tracy hand the flash drive to Brook Lynn, and she hid as they walked out.
At the Savoy, Marshall wondered if Curtis would be home that night. Curtis figured he would crash in the back after a long night, but Marshall advised him that Curtis and Portia couldn't fix their marriage if they weren't in the same room. T.J. arrived, and Marshall commented that it looked like T.J. had lost his best friend. "What if I have?" he answered. T.J. briefly updated Curtis and Marshall on Molly's condition, and he talked about how worried he was that she was shutting him out and not acting like herself. Marshall advised that Molly was grieving, and Curtis added that time really did heal all wounds. Marshall had to go, so he told T.J. to "hang in there," and he left. T.J. continued that he didn't know what to do, and he didn't know what Molly was thinking because of her lack of communication. Curtis wondered what it would mean for the couple if, worst-case scenario, Molly no longer wanted kids.
Alexis, Sam, and Kristina waited for Molly at the nail salon. They talked about how worried they were about her, as she'd requested manicures and dancing that night. Kristina hoped that Molly was out of her funk, but Sam feared that it was a coping mechanism. Just then, a jovial Molly arrived with a bottle of Champagne. Alexis wondered what they were celebrating and if she had news. Molly warned not to ask about her last doctor's appointment. She asked Sam about Scout and offered to take her to the movies that weekend. Sam declined, as she knew that Molly had a lot going on, but Molly insisted that she wanted to focus of what really mattered in her personal life.
Kristina wondered why they were going out that night, as it wasn't like Molly. Kristina urged Molly to let her family in and tell them what had happened. Molly was angry that she couldn't get one night off from talking about her fertility issues. She blurted out that her eggs weren't viable, so while T.J. could have biological kids, she couldn't. She asked for a minute and walked outside.
A short while later, Molly returned and apologized for storming off. Kristina offered to change the subject, but Molly didn't think there was any use in tiptoeing around the subject anymore. Kristina suggested that Molly could start making alternate plans to have children, but Molly couldn't broach that subject yet. She hugged Alexis, who assured her daughter that they would always support her. Alexis offered to have her daughters over for a low-key night in, but Molly wanted to go out with her mom and sisters and remind herself of everything she loved.
Lucy ranted to Maxie about Brook Lynn, and Maxie reminded Lucy that the crisis had been averted. Just as she excused herself to get home to her kids, Felicia arrived. Felicia assured Maxie that Mac was with the kids, and she was there to talk to Lucy. Maxie was curious, so Lucy claimed that Felicia was there to help her pick out an erotic gift for Martin. Maxie quickly picked up her things and left. Lucy explained to Felicia that she didn't want her business partners to know that she had concerns about Martin and how he got "squirrelly" every time she mentioned Deceptor.
Felicia revealed that she'd found a shredded bank statement in Martin's trash. She'd pieced it together and found that Martin had been getting a monthly deposit of $50,000 from a bank in Pine Valley, Pennsylvania. They speculated on what it could mean, and Felicia wondered if it was worth it to find out when it could cost Lucy the relationship. Lucy answered that her intuition was never wrong, and she needed to know what was going on. Felicia figured that her next step would be going to Pine Valley to see who was sending the payments.
Just then, Lucy's phone rang, and she saw that it was Martin. Felicia urged her to answer it, so she did. Martin told Lucy about Tracy inviting them to the picnic the next week, but Lucy wasn't sure if she could make it, as she had to go on a business trip. "What for?" he asked. She answered in a low voice, "Deception."
Violet and Finn sat at the bar in the Metro Court restaurant, sipping drinks. Chase sneaked up from behind and asked what they were doing at the bar. "We're having cocktails before dinner," Violet replied nonchalantly, before adding, "'Cause everybody knows that's when you have cocktails." Chase chuckled. Chase asked if either Finn or Violet had seen Brook Lynn. Finn mentioned that he'd last seen her at the pool with Tracy. Chase announced that he needed to rescue Brook Lynn.
In the corridor just outside the restaurant, a furious Tracy asked why Brook Lynn had confessed to "downloading propriety information on the Deceptor." Brook Lynn replied that she had a "conscience, a soul, [and] a shred of decency." Tracy again threatened to reveal her role in getting Chase rehired at the Port Charles Police Department. Before Brook Lynn could respond, Chase happened upon them. Brook Lynn and Chase shared that they had dinner plans and made a hasty exit.
In the break room at General Hospital, Elizabeth asked Portia how things were going between her and Curtis. Portia admitted being "angry and extremely hurt" by Curtis' actions, and she wondered if it might be too late to get things back on track. Elizabeth nodded understandingly. "After so much hurt, you have to consider -- is it even fair to ask him to risk his heart again," Elizabeth said softly. Portia questioned if Elizabeth might be talking about her own off-but-possibly-on-again relationship. Elizabeth shared that she and Finn were spending more time together as a family, but she insisted it was only "for the kids."
Elizabeth claimed to be okay with just being friends with Finn. Her worry, however, was that if things with Finn were to move forward and then not work out, she'd be responsible for breaking Violet's heart again. Portia believed that Elizabeth wasn't really thinking about Violet's heart. Portia refuted Elizabeth's belief that Elizabeth had been the sole cause of the problems in her relationship with Finn.
Portia admitted that she had allowed her fear to come between her and Curtis. As a result, she said that she would never know what would have happened if she had just been honest with Curtis. Elizabeth seemed to gain confidence from Portia's story and announced that she was "going for it." Elizabeth said she was headed to the Metro Court to see Finn. Portia suggested that Elizabeth go home first, shower, and get dressed so that Elizabeth could show Finn "what he's really missing."
At the Savoy, T.J. sought out Curtis' advice on how to talk to Molly. Curtis asked T.J. how he would feel if Molly decided that she did not want to have children. Before he could respond to his uncle's question, Alexis, Kristina, Sam, and Molly entered the bar. Curtis went over to greet the women, but Molly pulled T.J. aside and asked him what he was doing at the bar. Alexis, Sam, and Kristina headed to the far corner of the establishment in order to give Molly and T.J. some space to talk.
Curtis stole a moment of Sam's time to ask her if she had heard from Drew. Sam said that she didn't understand how Drew's plea deal "went so wrong." Curtis said that he had heard that the judge had political aspirations, and he sensed that the judge might have made an example out of Drew.
Sam asked Curtis how he was doing and how things were going with Trina and Portia. Curtis was brief on detail but said that things had taken a bit of a left turn because he had "messed up." Sam was confident that Trina would eventually come around and not be angry at Curtis. "In the end, we never have enough time with the people we love," she said.
T.J. told Molly that he had dropped by to talk to his uncle and lost track of time. T.J. apologized for not having left before Molly showed up and said that he hoped Molly and her family had a good time. Molly was upset that T.J. felt he had to leave. Molly admitted that everything in her life seemed to be "scrambled," but she insisted that she wanted a break from her fertility issues, not from her life partner.
Alexis and Kristina talked about Kristina's work at the shelter. Alexis told Kristina that she was very proud of Kristina. "I'm proud of myself, too," Kristina said with a smile. Kristina admitted that there were a lot of things that she still didn't know. T.J. and Molly joined them at the table, and T.J. asked some questions about Kristina's plans for the shelter. He offered his assistance to Kristina if it were ever needed. Molly chimed in that T.J. should be on the board. Alexis agreed that Kristina should delegate some of the responsibilities to other people.
Sam and Curtis walked over and listened in on the conversation. When Kristina expressed concern that she'd be stuck behind a desk and would have little opportunity to interact with the kids that the shelter would serve, Sam instructed her sister to make the time to meet with the kids.
Curtis pulled T.J. aside to see if things were okay with Molly. T.J. said that things seemed to be okay, and he thanked Curtis for listening to him. Curtis shared that he was going to head out and take his own advice for a change.
Molly asked T.J. to dance, but the rest of the Davis family stayed behind at the table. Sam and Alexis both expressed relief that Molly seemed to be doing a little better. Kristina, on the other hand, said that she really wanted Molly to move forward with plans to have a baby, though she admitted that feeling that way was somewhat selfish. Sam said that they should not pressure Molly into making any decision. Kristina said that she wished there was a way to make things easier for Molly and T.J. After a moment, Kristina's face lit up, and she exclaimed, "That's it! Why didn't I think of that before?"
Sam and Alexis were both afraid to ask what Kristina's idea was, but that didn't stop Kristina from sharing. "I can be Molly and T.J.' s surrogate!" Kristina chirped.
Back at the Metro Court, Chase returned to the bar and explained that Brook Lynn had needed to step away for a moment to handle something important. Tracy seemingly popped up out of nowhere and greeted the trio. When Violet learned that Tracy was planning to order takeout, she asked Finn if it was okay for "Auntie Tracy" to join them. Finn started to say that he didn't think Tracy would want to join them, but Tracy interrupted and announced that she'd be thrilled to have dinner with them. Tracy seemed to regret the invitation when Gregory showed up.
When Brook Lynn returned to the restaurant, she stopped cold when she saw everyone getting seated at a single table. "Why, God? Why? What have I done to deserve this?" she asked aloud. Brook Lynn took a deep breath and joined the table. While Tracy, Finn, Violet, and Gregory looked at something on a mobile phone, Chase leaned over and asked Brook Lynn if it was possible that Tracy was lonely.
Gregory asked Brook Lynn if she liked being back at Deception. Tracy chimed in that things had to be very busy. Brook Lynn forced a smile and said that she loved being back at the company. Gregory then asked how Brook Lynn had time to work at Deception and still write songs. Tracy interjected that Brook Lynn was "just being practical" because working in the arts wasn't always the steadiest employment.
Brook Lynn noticed that Finn was unusually quiet and asked him what he was up to. Finn said that he'd been focused on working. "Tell them about your date!" Violet implored. Violet started to yawn, and Finn thought it was a good time to call it a night. After everyone had said their goodnights, Brook Lynn asked Chase if he wanted to get a nightcap by the pool. Chase said that he'd love to, but he needed to know why Brook Lynn had been acting off all evening.
Brook Lynn replied that her grandmother had been getting on her nerves. Chase pointedly asked why Brook Lynn had gone back to work at Deception, a job that she clearly did not like.
By the elevator, Elizabeth stepped out of the elevator as Finn, Violet, and Gregory were waiting to get on. No longer sleepy, Violet declared that Elizabeth looked "like a princess." Finn agreed. Elizabeth asked if they were headed home. Gregory quickly replied that he and Violet were headed home but that Finn could certainly stay. "I can stay?" Finn asked in disbelief. Violet nodded.
At the Metro Court pool, Anna and Jordan sat down for a drink. Anna assumed that she had not heard from Jordan because of the splashy headlines that labeled Anna a traitor. Jordan insisted that wasn't the case. Jordan asked how Anna had felt having the word "murderer" spraypainted across her door. Anna correctly guessed that Valentin had told Jordan.
Jordan said that she had checked and found that no police report had been filed over the vandalism. Anna claimed it had all been a prank pulled off by some kids. Anna tried to steer the conversation to talking about Jordan's new job as deputy mayor, but Jordan sensed that Anna just didn't want to talk about her own situation. Jordan said that there wasn't much to tell and then turned the conversation back to Anna.
Anna said that Robin understood what was going on, but she said that it was "a bit more difficult" for Emma. Jordan claimed to understand the toll that working undercover took. She added that she would always be Anna's friend, no matter what.
Jordan confessed that she had slept with Zeke. Anna wondered if Jordan would have slept with Zeke if she had known who he was. Jordan replied with a couple of "No's," but she wasn't entirely convincing, and that made Anna chuckle a bit. Jordan continued, calling Zeke "stupidly hot," and lamented that there was "no reason he should be related to anyone" that she knew. As Anna asked for more information on Zeke, Jordan noticed that Zeke had just entered the pool area.
Zeke approached the two women, and Anna smiled broadly. Jordan introduced Zeke and Anna but said nothing more. Anna suddenly "remembered" that she had to make a call and scurried off.
Back in the Metro Court restaurant, Sonny admitted that he'd invited Dante to dinner under false pretenses. Sonny said that he and Nina were getting married, and he wanted Dante to be his best man. Dante said that he'd be honored to accept the position of best man. When Sonny said that the wedding would be a small, simple ceremony sometime in the fall, Dante wondered if Sonny wanted to keep a low profile "because there could be trouble."
Sonny asked Dante what he was "fishing" for. Dante denied that his questions were being asked in any official capacity as a cop. Dante said that he'd noticed changes in Sonny's routine. Sonny received a call from Anna asking if she could meet up with him. When Sonny learned that Anna was also at the Metro Court, he told her that he'd meet her in the pool area when he was done with dinner.
Sonny asked if Dante wanted to walk with him to the pool to say hello to Anna, but Dante said that he needed to get home. Dante explained that Scout wasn't doing so great, and Sonny asked Dante to give his love to the girl. The two men embraced and headed in their separate directions.
Back at the pool, once Anna was gone, Jordan told Zeke that he did not have to stick around. Zeke believed that Jordan was mad at him for telling Portia that Jordan and Curtis had kissed. Jordan admitted that she had been mad, but she no longer was. Zeke asked for a chance to start over, but Jordan said that it might be too late to for that.
Zeke claimed that his night with Jordan hadn't just been about sex. He was taken aback when Jordan replied, "It was for me." She grudgingly admitted that she had wanted it to be just about sex. Zeke pounced on the opportunity to point out that he had really been looking forward to seeing Jordan again. Jordan tried to back out of things by explaining that she'd just started a new job and was very busy. Zeke responded that he was a lawyer and was also very busy. After a brief pause, Zeke looked around and noted that they both appeared to be free at that moment. He asked Jordan to have dinner with him.
Jordan stated that she had moved on from having any designs on Curtis. She was also sure that Portia had given Zeke numerous reasons to steer clear of her. "I don't let my family dictate who I see," Zeke said matter-of-factly. Jordan's face dropped when Portia walked out onto the pool deck. Zeke turned and saw Portia.
Portia approached the table and commented that she knew why Zeke had not been taking her calls -- he was on "a little date with Jordan." Jordan started to explain that Portia had gotten the wrong impression, but she stopped midsentence when Curtis walked into the pool area. Curtis frowned and marched in their direction.
At the Metro Court pool, Sonny and Anna exchanged pleasantries. Anna told Sonny about Valentin and Laura's trip. Sonny said that he already knew that Valentin was out of time, but he claimed that he and Valentin really didn't speak much to each other. Anna shared that she knew that Sonny and Valentin were involved in some sort of business venture together, though she did not know what the venture was, and she wasn't sure that she wanted to.
Still, Anna said that Valentin wanted her to pass along a message. Sonny was not to speak to anyone new, she relayed. "If your contact person is to change, do not proceed until you've spoken to your original contact person," Anna said. Sonny pondered the message and took a sip of water. Anna asked Sonny if he wanted to tell her what he and Valentin were working on.
Sonny asked what else Valentin had said. Nearby, Dante entered the pool area. He gazed upward and then shouted, "Gun! Everybody down!" A single gunshot sounded.
